Wonderful green brush in this painterly portrait of Vincent van Gogh

I explored van Gogh’s self-portraits a lot. I know his face well, it is a wonderful opportunity for me to paint and to make discoveries about the wonderful act of painting. I paint quickly, freely and with delight. It almost seems that I paint with my finger so much the brush is an extension of my hand.

This newly developed technique allows me to quickly explore gesture and movement. Each painting is unique and offers a different feeling each time. The variations and the miracle are expressed in each movement of the gesture. The choice of the single color or several colors gives the painting a new sensitive and unique reality.
